2018 Year in Review

Looking back at 2018, there were many exciting and challenging things that happened for our clients, our staff, and personally for my family. As I have talked about in the past, at CMBA we're able to work with some of the most amazing clients, contribute to some of the best projects regionally, and create many unique spaces for people to enjoy. Early in the year we were fortunate that voters supported several educational projects that will transform the learning environments of their students for the next 20 to 30 years. Many of these projects included spaces that will allow teachers and students to collaborate, explore, and push knowledge at many levels. Our healthcare design team led our clients through lean processes, contributed to the refinement of their unique organizational structures, and provided our design expertise to bring high-quality healthcare to their patients and families. Many of these environments, including one that will shift thinking for the sterilization of medical instruments, will greatly enhance the operational efficiencies and staff success for each organization. Each one of our office locations added wonderful staff members during 2018. These new staff members have brought their unique perspectives and wonderful skill sets to our team. Their energy and curiosity have made our projects and clients more successful. So thank you to our new staff members Anna Bednarko, Julio Muñoz and Katie Benner. 2018 is also a year that my family will never forget. In late January, I was deployed overseas in support of our military’s work in Iraq and Syria. During those 6 1/2 months, I was able to remain in contact electronically, but of course being separated from your family can be very difficult. We had many highs and lows, but overall our family is much stronger and more connected following that challenging experience. Serving overseas also allowed me to serve alongside many of the wonderful people in our military today. We can all be proud of their hard work and dedication to protecting our freedom and our nation’s interests. Thank you to all of our clients for a wonderful 2018! We truly enjoyed working for you and with you to make your vision a reality. Again, it’s not what we do, it’s who we do it for that makes our work enjoyable. We look forward to serving you long into the future.
