NeoCon. I’m not sure where the name “NeoCon” came from, but it’s a big deal if you’re an Interior Designer. NeoCon is the largest commercial interiors show in North America. It’s held at the
Merchandise Mart in Chicago and in just a few short weeks, Kathy and I (Michele) will be there. Manufacturers for everything related to commercial interiors come together to showcase their products. They always have new products to introduce, so for a designer like me, it’s like being a kid in a GIANT candy store! The show is 3 days long and is held on 5 of the floors in the Merchandise Mart. It’s almost impossible to get to everything that we want to when we’re there, but be sure that we do our best to cover as much ground as we can. Our feet at the end of the day tell us so! There are also plenty of opportunities for continuing education seminars, which we always take advantage of while we’re there. Why do I love this show so much? There are so many possibilities, cool new products and technologies that we get to see in person. We can sit-test the furniture and see products installed in larger quantities. The designs of the showrooms, themselves, are always incredible too. Trying to impress a bunch of designers is no easy feat, but somehow, they always pull it off and I come away feeling inspired and excited to share my new-found knowledge with my current project team and with our clients! While NeoCon is a great way for us to stay up-to-date with what’s happening in our industry, the most important reason for going is so that we can continue to provide the high-quality service that our clients deserve.
Stay tuned – we plan to bring you the best of NeoCon 2015!
